写完博文“他乡遇故知”以后,脑子里就剩一个念头,一定要找到蕾的联系方式。翻箱倒柜寻找之后,终于翻出在美国时用的一个小本子,在上面找到了蕾的电子邮箱。

我赶快写了一封邮件,试试看蕾能不能收到。

一天以后,我收到了蕾的邮件。她说:We are OK although a lot of friends had lost their jobs. We don't know what is ahead. For now we are very busy and try to balance work and life.

我高兴极了,马上写到:

It is so nice to hear from you!

I wrote something about you and your family.

很快,蕾又回复了我:

How nice! I read the article, very interesting. 

Thanks for your concern! We are doing very well. Even though the company will be a lot smaller after bankruptcy, they still need people to develop new product. GM can only survive by provide new product customer want to buy.  

I moved to another department last year. My new job is more challenge and interesting than the old one. I was extremely busy for the last eight months.
